Welcome to GMAS ,

RMIT's only anime and manga club

 

What is GMAS?

GMAS (Games, Manga and Anime Society) is currently RMIT's only anime club. Our club aims to bring people with an interest in anime, games and manga together to socialise, and provides a comfortable environment for everyone to have fun with fellow companions on their way through their journey of tertiary education.

 

Weekly Meetings and Events

Every week we have a 3 hour gathering where we screen anime, give free time for members to socialise and host small events. At GMAS, we put the focus on allowing members to meet other members rather than screening anime, therefore screenings will usually only take up the first hour. During our meetings, we also host small events such as team quizzes and announce the weekly anime song ranking as voted by our members on facebook!

We understand and do not expect that everyone can always participate for the whole meeting every week. So if you're interested, please feel free to drop by, say 'hi' and have a look, even if it's only for a little while.

 

Registration and Joining

GMAS wants to ensure that each member enjoys and are comfortable with our club atmosphere. That is why we encourage those who are interested in joining, to first come along to one of our weekly meetings and experience it for yourself, before deciding whether you would like to officially join the club.

If you decide that you would like to join us, feel free to approach any of the committee members at the end of the meeting and we will register you there.

The joining fee for GMAS is AUD$5 for an annual membership card which will last until the end of the year of registration, or AUD$3 for a one semester membership which would last until the end of the semester the card was registered.

With our GMAS membership card, you will be given discounts on your purchases at our sponsor stores including Kanga Kanga and Moemall, both located within a short walking distance from RMIT city campus.

 

Where to Find Us?

For this semester (first semester, 2012), our weekly meetings will be held every Friday from 5PM - 8PM at the Student Union Meeting Room (the door directly opposite the RMIT Gym).
