Introducing the Education Department...

The Education department is concerned with the quality of your education at RMIT University AND the broader government policies around higher education. This department aims to make sure students are consulted and informed on issues that effect the education that they pay so much money for.

How to have your say...

The Campaigns Collective
The Campaign Collective is run collaboratively between the Welfare and Education Departments and focuses on issues relating to the education and welfare of students at RMIT. This includes the new Special Consideration Policy, Exclusion Policy, student poverty and housing just to name a few. It is made up of student representatives and students concerned anbout welfare and education issues.
Getting involved in the campaigns collective is a great way to have a say about what goes on at RMIT and create positive changes within the university and beyond. It is also a great way to get involved in the RMIT community.

Join your school's SSCC!

Joint student/staff consultative committees (SSCC's) are a forum within which to provide student feedback on academic programs. Participation in the SSCC's helps to ensure a high quality teaching and learning experience at RMIT. If you cannot be on the committee, you can still speak to the nominate students on it and provide them with your feedback.

Student Staff Consultative Committees

- Exist in all Schools across the University
- Include volunteer student representatives elected for one year by their academic program peers to represent student interests and concerns
- Focus on program-related issues eg: workload, teaching methods, program structure, timetabling, access to resources, (SSCCs do NOT deal with complaints or students rights issues, which have separate structures)
- Meet at least twice each semester
