The impact of VSU on RMIT Student Union
In February 2008, the newly elected Rudd Government released a discussion entitled: "The Impact of Voluntary Student Unionism on Services, Amenities and Representation for Australian University Students."
The purpose of the discussion paper was to seek views from higher education stakeholders:
? The impact of VSU on student services and amenities and student representation; and
? What needs to be done to ensure satisfactory services and amenities and student representative bodies.
This is the RMIT Student Union's response which was submitted Tuesday 11 March.
Campaigns Collective
The Campaign Collective is run collaboratively between the Welfare and Education Departments and focuses on issues relating to the education and welfare of students at RMIT. This includes the new Special Consideration Policy, Exclusion Policy, student poverty and housing just to name a few. It is made up of student representatives and students concerned anbout welfare and education issues.
Getting involved in the campaigns collective is a great way to have a say about what goes on at RMIT and create positive changes within the university and byond. It is also a great way to get involved in the RMIT community.
Meetings run weekly at lunchtime in the Activist space, ask at the Student Union front counter or contact:
